In August 2003 the Butterfield Bank Group attained Investors in People Accreditation, together with the Recruitment and Selection Award - becoming the first organisation in the Channel Islands to have done so.
In addition, we were the first company in any jurisdiction to gain the “double” award - the Investors in People Standard and the Recruitment and Selection Award, and we are very proud of our achievements.
As part of the path to accreditation we have made improvements to processes such as our Performance Management Review (appraisal), Induction Programmes, communication processes and staff motivation initiatives.
One of our major ongoing programmes is the Management Skills Development programme, and with continual re-evaluation and improvement to processes such as the ones mentioned above, we aim to continually improve our practices and processes in people management.
Further to this, Butterfield Bank (Guernsey) Limited undertook its first re-assessment in December 2005 as part of the ongoing accreditation process, and has retained its accreditation for both the Investors in People Standard and the Recruitment and Selection Standard.
In December 2007 we received our second re-accreditation, this time under the new “Profile” Standard, and again had excellent results from our assessment. We were also the first organisation in the Channel Islands to be assessed under the new Standard.
